Planting of turmeric in Andhra Pradesh state for the 2014-2015 season is reported at 0.104 lakh ha, as against 0.09 lakh ha last year and a normal sowing of 0.13 lakh ha. The area in Telanagana stood at 0.438 lakh ha against 0.42 lakh ha last year. Turmeric production in 2013-2014 is reported around 40 lakh bags, down by 10-15%.
