Heavy snowfall and frost are expected to bury down parts of Britain on Tuesday night that is likely to continue until Wednesday morning early hours.

Temperatures are expected to drop below the freezing point with parts of Britain getting up to six inches of snow. Severe weather warning has also been issued in the country as the temperatures had already dipped to -5C (23F) in England on Monday night.

As per the weatherman, snow was however expected to lash the Midlands including the north and Scotland. Threat of destructive winds gusting at a speed of 50 mph in the south-west was also forecasted before moving along the Channel.

The forecasters claim that the icy conditions are likely to continue until early Wednesday morning. Alongside, the wintry weather may move slowly eastwards.

Though the country has already braced wintry showers earlier but this is being considered to be the vastest affecting more number of people. There is a frontal system moving in from the west meeting the quite cold weather we have been having over the last few days.

However, the snow levels can further be below 200 meters that could be around 2 cm. People are advised to drive carefully on higher routes over the Pennines and in Scotland.

Another ‘be aware’ warning has been issued by the Highways England on the north and Midlands

The chilly weather will most likely affect the M6 and A66 in the northwest, and the A66, M62 and A628 in the Pennines.
