Central US to be struck by severe storms early this week

cent USOn Monday night several spells of severe weather will erupt across central US. This is the same system that caused severe thunderstorms and tornadoes which was accompanied by large hail in Colorado on Saturday. This system will progress eastwards this week.

The severe thunderstorms across Kansas and Oklahoma will move eastwards towards Missouri, Arkansas, Texas and Louisiana on Monday night. Every possible type is severe weather is possible on Monday night across the region. These severe thunderstorms will have the potential for dangerous lightning, flash flooding and isolated tornadoes. All this will be there along with the already threat of large hail and damaging winds.

People indulging in outdoor activities will have to be extra cautious during an approaching thunderstorm. This year so far lightning fatalities have been the highest since 2001. Drivers have to be alert for rapid reduction in visibility and dangerous road conditions during thunderstorms.

The storm system will continue to move eastwards on Monday night into Tuesday. The intensity of these storms will reduce as the night progresses. However, these storms will be strong enough to produce gusty winds and flooding downpours.

A few strong thunderstorms may develop on Tuesday across parts of the Ohio Valley as the system drifts eastwards.

Looking ahead for the summer months, according to the latest indications the south and central states is likely to be struck with heavy rainfall and severe weather.
