Four people were reported to have died due to massive storms, suspected tornadoes that lashed Rehobeth in Alabama. The gloomy incident took place when fierce gales trembled down a tree on a mobile home where these four were staying. Three others in the van somehow managed to survive.

Moreover, due to flooding, caused by the storm, a 70-year-old man was also found dead in Florida along with the sixth casualty in Georgia due to storms.

As per the weatherman, unsettled weather conditions have been hammering US south and thousands of people in Louisiana and Mississippi were deserted with power outages.

Severe rain warnings have already been in place for southern Alabama, southwest Georgia, and Florida for Tuesday. But the worst of the weather appeared by late morning over the Atlantic Ocean. In fact, since Saturday, both Southern Alabama and Mississippi have witnessed over 8 inches of rain.

Severe damages were observed over the Beauregard and Allen areas in Louisiana. Strong winds also caused devastation in Houston and throughout East Texas.

In addition to the fatalities, more than 1,000 homes were also damaged along with knocking down plenty of trees. It is expected to take four to five days in clearing out the debris completely.

As per the Met Department, rivers along the Gulf Coast were already on rising on Monday but only minor flooding was forecasted. The recent week’s rains have though eased out the prevailing drought conditions across the southeast. Yet, parts of north Alabama and north Georgia are still under drought influence despite rains and storms.
