Flash floods, storms to wreak havoc over South Central US this weekendSouth Central United States is in for some severe weather during the coming weekend. A few neighbourhoods may be hit quite hard as flash floods on account of violent storms may be the highlight of the weekend weather wise.

Not only this, the severe weather conditions may even lead to squally winds over some areas until the first half of the next week.

Areas including Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Illinois, as well as Kansas may bear the brunt of the upcoming weather conditions. Events including heavy rain, tornadoes, hail storm, lightning strikes and damaging winds will occur over the aforementioned areas.

Violent storms will be observed over the areas of Northwest Texas and West central Oklahoma during the late evening hours of Friday. During the same time frame, violent storm effects could also be observed over areas of Southeast Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri and Tennessee.

Meanwhile on Saturday afternoon, the storm surge will shift towards the areas of Arkansas, Northern Louisiana and Mississippi. The areas of Northwest Alabama will also come under the grip of the storm on Sunday evening.

Excessive rainfall is expected in some areas of the lower Mississippi Valley. Here, just about a few inches of rainfall in a short span may result in flash flooding.
