Pakistan continues to reel under hot weather conditions

June 28, 2015 2:30 PM |

Pakistan continues to reel under hot weather conditionsMost parts of Pakistan have been witnessing hot and uneasy weather conditions. North and Central Pakistan did receive scattered rain on June 23 and 24 due to a Western Disturbance. But patchy rain were insufficient to result in long lasting relief over that area.

However, South and Southwest Pakistan has not observed any weather activity since the last few days. The depression which was formed over Gujarat coast also affected Gujarat and Rajasthan only.

Due to this weather system southwesterly winds reached up to Central Pakistan which has increased the humidity levels. But the system failed to give good amounts of rain.

Now, due to these moist winds in the Arabian Sea, humidity levels have increased but temperatures have not fallen much. Maximums in most parts are still in the lower 40s and in the high 40s in some places. High temperatures and humidity have resulted in many deaths in Pakistan since the past few days. The situation is similar to Telangana where high humidity and hot weather conditions had led to several deaths in Pakistan.

No significant weather activity is in the offing for the next 3 to 4 days therefore no relief is expected. However, a Western Disturbance will give scattered rain over northern parts of the country but other areas of Pakistan will continue to reel under hot weather conditions.
