Pack a basket with some lip smacking home cooked finger foods and juices, get a frisbie and you are ready for a family picnic at the comfort of your garden.
Be Creative!
A bit of creativity from your end can be of lifelong help for your little ones. Sometimes surviving long winter days just requires a knack for art & craft. To prevent taking trips to the stationery store on a cold day, stock up some crayons, art paper, fluorescent paper, some ribbons and glitters. Teach your kid to make Christmas and New Year greeting cards; it’s economical as well as fun!
Board Games
Board games are rich in learning opportunities and mental growth of children. So pull out a board game to not only spend quality time together but also to help your child develop new skills and interests. Passing the parcel, even though not a board game, will never be a gone by memory.
Cooking and baking
Involve children in a day of cooking. While baking a brownie, ask them to help you beat eggs, measure and stir dry ingredients. They will love decorating a cake as well! Your kitchen might seem a bit messed up at the end of the day but the precious time spent with kids will surely compensate for it.
Winter sports
Winter is not the time to be just under wraps. There is a volley of sports for the entire family on a chilly day to keep you warm. Even snow has its own charm but take precautions to keep your child safe. After a day out in the snow, treat yourself and your child with some hot soup or a cup of hot chocolate.
You can also make snow! Might sound strange but all you need for this is some patience. All you need is soap flakes, liquid starch, water, and white powdered tempra. It's easy, just google the procedure and have your very own private white Christmas.
