Delhi/NCR received light to moderate rainfall in the past 24 hours. The base station Safdarjung recorded 10 mm, and Palam Observatory measured 9 mm of rainfall till 8:30 a.m. With persistent clouds and a mild breeze, the day temperature dipped to 28.6°C, about 5.5°C below normal. This was the second-lowest temperature of the month so far. Earlier, the city observatory registered a day temperature of 26.4°C on 09th August 2025.

The monsoon trough remains south of Delhi, passing through Ganganagar, Gwalior, Satna, and further eastward. The trough has two embedded cyclonic circulations, one on each end. On the western end, a circulation is marked over North Rajasthan and Haryana, while on the eastern end, it is dipping into the center of circulation associated with the low-pressure area over the Northwest Bay of Bengal. The monsoon trough will remain in proximity to the national capital through this week, staying in a favourable position to trigger light to moderate rainfall on a regular basis over Delhi/NCR.

Weather activity may slow down slightly over Delhi and the suburbs tomorrow. From 28th August onwards, it is likely to increase again. In the meantime, the low-pressure area in the Bay of Bengal will move inland, and its circulation will draw closer to Delhi between 30th August and 02nd September. Oscillation of the monsoon trough will increase the intensity and spread of rainfall over and around Delhi during this period. August will end and September will begin on a rainy note. Weather conditions are expected to remain in the comfort zone. Sultry conditions, normally seen around this time, will remain in abeyance, and pleasant weather will dominate almost the entire region for the next week. Intermittent heavy showers are likely over the weekend, with a spillover into early next week.
