05 August, 2015 Monsoon Update: Skymet Weather

August 4, 2015 7:51 PM |

The Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir could bring scattered rainfall over the hills of North India. The low pressure area over Pakistan and adjoining areas will bring some rain over North Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi-NCR and West Uttar Pradesh.

Scattered good showers likely over Northeast India.

The prolonged dry spell in Vidarbha and Marathwada has come to an end. All thanks to the well-marked low pressure area which has been lingering on over the region for quite some time has now intensified into a depression. Tomorrow it will be marked over Madhya Pradesh and adjoining Vidarbha and Marathwada. Southwest Monsoon will be vigorous over this part of the country. The system will gradually weaken and mover towards east UP.

This system has brought down the eastern end of the Monsoon trough. There is another trough extending from the well-marked low, across Telangana, Rayalseema upto Tamil Nadu. Tomorrow we can expect some light to moderate showers over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalseema, Telangana and coastal Tamil Nadu.

The off-shore trough along the West Coast will bring rain mainly over Coastal Karnataka, Konkan & Goa. Mumbai will receive very light rain.

Temperatures will be below normal in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha and Marathwada. Day temperatures are likely to be near normal in rest of the country.
