June 13, 2015 6:50 PM |

Multiple systems are affecting weather across the country. Monsoon has been progressing rapidly. Southwest Monsoon could enter south Gujarat and remaining parts of Maharashtra anytime now. Mumbai will continue to receive good Monsoon showers for next couple of days.

The off-shore trough along the Western Ghats are bringing good showers along the coast. Southern parts of Gujrat will also receive good showers on Sunday. Rain will now reduce over Kerala, interiors of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

At present, scattered rains are being observed in Telangana, Odisha, south Chhattisgarh and West Madhya Pradesh. Saurashtra and south Gujarat are also observing some rainfall.

The cyclonic circulation over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining Odisha region will bring thundershowers over the region. This system is feeble at the moment but proximity to the water body will help in strengthening the system. This is turn will bring in the Monsoon current over the area.

Assam and Meghalaya in the Northeast will continue to receive heavy showers.

Here we can see three cyclonic circulations. One over Pakistan and adjoining Haryana region, another is present over west Uttar Pradesh, while the third one is situated over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining Odisha region. We can expect some rain and thundershowers all along the trough line joining the centres of these systems. As a result, plains of Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh will continue to receive rain and thundershowers.
