Monsoon Forecast for Jul 18, 2017: Monsoon rains in Mumbai, Delhi, Odisha, Gujarat

Southwest Monsoon remained vigorous over South Gujarat, parts of Kutch, North Konkan and Goa, Odisha.

While active Monsoon conditions were seen over rest parts of Konkan & Goa, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, parts of Vidarbha and Marathwada.

Meanwhile, Normal Monsoon conditions were observed over Kerala, East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, West Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, East Rajasthan and Arunachal Pradesh.

Major contribution came from Bhawanipatna that recorded 182 mm rain, followed by Cuttack at 155 mm and Gopalpur at 96 mm.

As on July 16, the cumulative countrywide rainfall still remains normal. Presently, only Northwest India is rain surplus by 25%. Rest of South, Central, East and Northeast regions of the country are still rain deficit.

The Northern Limit of Monsoon continues to pass through Jaisalmer, Phalodi, Hissar and Kapurthala.

During the next 24 hours, Southwest Monsoon will remain vigorous over Coastal Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and North Konkan & Goa including Mumbai, giving some heavy rains.

While active Monsoon conditions will be seen over South Gujarat, Coastal Karnataka, Telangana, Marathwada, Vidarbha, South Chhattisgarh and Southeast Madhya Pradesh.

Light to moderate rains are possible over East Rajasthan, rest parts of Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Punjab, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh.
