Weather Forecast for Jun 8: Rain in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad

Monsoon remained active over Kerala, while it was vigorous over Andaman and Nicobar Islands. All thanks to the cyclonic circulation over south central Bay of Bengal. Hence, moderate to heavy rains will continue over Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Meanwhile, the rain activity is likely to reduce over South Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

A trough is extending from East Uttar Pradesh up to North of Tamil Nadu. In wake of the trough, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana including Hyderabad and northern districts of Tamil Nadu will record light to moderate rain and thundershowers.

In fact, Gujarat region, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and Interior Karnataka may also see good spell of showers.

Mumbai will now observe increase in rain intensity and with it, moderate showers will continue for the next 24 hours. Meanwhile, Chennai would see light to moderate rain and thundershowers. Also, some good showers cannot be ruled out over Bengaluru.

Up in North India, the Western Disturbance is moving away northeastwards but it will continue to give good rain and thundershowers over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand for another 24 hours. Its induced cyclonic circulation is marked over Punjab and adjoining Pakistan. A trough is extending from this system up to Coastal Odisha. Another cyclonic circulation is embedded on the trough over East Uttar Pradesh and adjoining Bihar. With this, light to moderate rains will continue over parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, North Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh.

Coming to central region, rain and thundershower activities over Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh has abated the heatwave from the region. Light to moderate showers are likely to continue over Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha region.

Moving to East India, good rains are expected over East Bihar, while scattered showers over sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Jharkhand. Light rains cannot be ruled out at one or two places over Odisha.

In northeast region, rains will now increase marginally over northeastern states.
