Weather Forecast for Apr 7: Rain in Kolkata, Hyderabad, Delhi; dry weather in Chennai, Mumbai

After dry weather conditions, rains are all set to make a comeback over most parts of the country. With this, heatwave which is prevailing in many parts will take a backseat resulting in relief for most parts of India. However, Gujarat and South Rajasthan will continue to remain dry and hot.

Now, let us take a detailed look at the weather conditions prevailing across the country.

A feeble Western Disturbance is over North Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir. Its induced cyclonic circulation is over Pakistan and adjoining Punjab. A trough is also extending from this system up to Haryana.

With this, dust storm with light to moderate rain and thundershowers are likely over parts of Punjab, Haryana, North Rajasthan, and West Uttar Pradesh. Temperatures may drop further over Northwest Plains due to these weather activities. Isolated rains may also occur over North Jammu and Kashmir. Delhi also stands a chance of witnessing dust storm and thunderstorm activity.

A trough is extending from South Uttar Pradesh to Mizoram across Jharkhand and West Bengal. Thus, light to moderate rain and thundershowers with one or two heavy spells are expected over West Bengal and adjoining Jharkhand. East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and North Odisha will also receive scattered thundershowers. Meanwhile, intensity of rains will reduce over Northeast India. However, few spells may continue. Kolkata is expected to have a warm day with chances of thunderstorm.

A trough is seen extending from East Madhya Pradesh across Vidarbha and South Madhya Maharashtra. Thus, scattered rain and thundershowers are likely over southern parts of Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Marathwada and parts of Madhya Maharashtra. Chhattisgarh may also witness isolated light rains. However, Gujarat and South Rajasthan will remain dry and warm. Mumbai will also remain warm with humidity on a high.

The trough running up to Karnataka will result in some rains over Karnataka and Kerala. Also, due to moisture incursion from Bay of Bengal, Telangana and Coastal Andhra Pradesh may witness good spells of rains. Rest of South India will remain dry. Hyderabad may also observe thundershower activities while Chennai will remain warm and Humid. Bengaluru will also remain warm with partly cloudy sky conditions.
