April 16, 2016 4:33 PM |

The Western Disturbance is presently marked over North Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir. Its induced cyclonic circulation is over South-Central Pakistan and adjoining West Rajasthan. With this, we can expect light to moderate rain and thundershowers over Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh on Sunday. While, plains of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Delhi cud see isolated thunderstorm and hailstorm activity.

Meanwhile, the trough continues to run from Vidarbha region up to Comorin area across Karnataka and Interior Tamil Nadu. This will give scattered rain and thundershowers over Kerala, while isolated activity is likely over South Interior Karnataka and South Tamil Nadu.

Moving up to the northeastern region, the cyclonic circulation continues to persist over Meghalaya and Assam. With this, light to moderate rain and thundershowers with isolated heavy spell will continue Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal.

Another cyclonic circulation is seen over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining areas. A trough can be seen running from this system up South Odisha. With this, we could see some rain over West Bengal and isolated activity over one or two parts of Odisha on Sunday. This activity can lead to marginal drop in temperatures over Jharkhand and West Bengal but will not be able to abate heatwave.

Heatwave will continue to sweep most parts of the country on Sunday also. No relief is likely in coming days as mercury will soar over parts of Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Telangana, Rayalaseema, North Interior Karnataka, Vidarbha and Marathwada and even in parts of Punjab, Haryana and Delhi.

In addition to this, temperatures across Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Gujarat are showing the rising trend.
