Weather Forecast for Jan 24: Fog in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rain in Andaman

The persistent Western Disturbance is likely to move away eastwards. However, isolated rain may continue over parts of Uttarakhand. Meanwhile, weather in northwestern plains will be dry. The dry and cold winds from north would drop the minimum temperatures over the western parts of Punjab, Haryana and North Rajasthan. In fact, moderate fog may also make a comeback over parts of Punjab, Haryana and Delhi.

In East and Northeast India, a cyclonic circulation is persisting over East Bangladesh and a feeble trough is seen over East Uttar Pradesh and adjoining Bihar. In wake of this weather system, scattered rains are possible over foothills of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh. Meanwhile, weather of remaining parts of East and Northeast India will remain dry. However, the intensity of fog may decrease over East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

In Central India, dry weather conditions will continue to persist over entire central parts. Meanwhile, the minimum temperatures are likely to fall by 2°C to 3°C over South Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh and parts of Maharashtra and Gujarat.

Down South, a cyclonic circulation is seen over south central Bay of Bengal. In wake of this weather system light to moderate rain is likely to continue over Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Weather of remaining parts of Southern Peninsula will be dry.

Talking about the major cities of India, Delhi will remain dry with moderate fog. Meanwhile, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Kolkata will remain dry.
