Weather Forecast for June 26: Heavy Monsoon rains in Mumbai, Goa, Karnataka, North West Bengal

Monsoon remains vigorous all along the West Coast on account of the active off-shore trough right from Coastal Gujarat up to Kerala. With this, heavy to very heavy rain will occur over North Kerala, Coastal Karnataka and Goa on Sunday. While Coastal Maharashtra will see more intense activity and extremely heavy rains are likely over several parts, especially Mumbai. Adjoining coastal Gujarat could also see good showers with heavy in pockets. Meanwhile, the cyclonic circulation in Arabian Sea has shifted northwestwards, away from the Indian Coast.

While, the other circulation in Bay of Bengal has moved inland and is marked over South Coastal Odisha. The system will continue to move in northwest direction towards Maharashtra. With this, moderate Monsoon rains with isolated heavy showers may occur South Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and adjoining parts of Telangana and Chhattisgarh. Vidarbha and Marathwada will also good rains on account of the approaching system.

Up in north, series of cyclonic circulations continues to persist. One can be seen stationed over Rajasthan and Haryana, while the other one is now seen over North Madhya Pradesh and adjoining areas. An east-west trough can be seen running through these two circulations, extending up to Northeast region. While, secondary arm of the trough is running up to the system over Odisha. Accordingly, pre-Monsoon weather activity of thundershowers and dust storm will continue over northern plains including Delhi. Good rains are also likely over East Madhya Pradesh.

While, heavy to extremely heavy Monsoon rains will continue over Sikkim, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya. While, moderate to heavy rains will continue over foothills of East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
