Weather Forecast for March 31: Pre-Monsoon rain in few parts of India

March 30, 2016 2:40 PM |

Month of April will commence on a wet note in North India. A feeble Western Disturbance is moving across Jammu and Kashmir. It will affect only the higher reaches. Another Western Disturbance will follow in close proximity. At present it is marked over Pakistan and will start affecting weather in the hills from 31st night onwards. This system will also have an induced cyclonic circulation. Accordingly, we can expect some rainfall in the foothills of Punjab and Haryana. Places to be affected will include Jammu, Pathankot, Chandigarh, Ambala and Amritsar.

Cool and dry northwesterly winds coming from here and moist winds pumped in by the anti-cyclone over Bay of Bengal will create a confluence zone over here. We can also see a trough over here. These weather systems will bring good showers over North Coastal Odisha and adjoin Gangetic West Bengal. Isolated rains likely in rest of Odisha and Coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Tomorrow, we can expect some rain thundershowers over Northeast India as well.

The peninsular trough is a semi-permanent feature which keeps oscillating in the pre-Monsoon season. Tomorrow it will bring scattered rains in Kerala and Coastal Karnataka.

Day temperatures in Delhi and NCR will remain in mid-thirties. Minimums will be in higher teens.

Patna will be quite hot with maximum at 37°C.

Heatwave like conditions will continue to prevail in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, North Interior Karnataka, and Maharashtra.

Hyderabad and other cities in the region will record maximum around 39°C.
