November 14, 2015 5:17 PM |

No relief from flood-like situation in Chennai. Heavy showers will continue over the capital city during the weekend. Blame it on the well-marked low pressure area over Southeast Bay of Bengal. It is now lying very close to the coastal areas of Sri Lanka. It is likely to move in a West-Northwest direction, gradually intensifying. On Sunday, we can expect fairly widespread rainfall over Tamil Nadu Coast, adjoining Andhra Coast and Rayalaseema. South Interior Karnataka and Kerala will also receive good showers.

The anti-cyclone over Gujarat will keep the weather dry over this region. You can expect bright sunny afternoon hours over the weekend. East and Northeast India will remain mainly dry.

In North India, the existing Western Disturbance will bring only light precipitation over the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir. Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand will be mainly dry.

Temperatures will start dropping in the hills and plains of North India November 17 onwards. Till then we can expect the night temperatures to remain around 15 degrees over Delhi, Amritsar and rest of North Indian plains. We can expect drop in the temperatures over Central India as well.

Fog has started making an appearance over Northeast India. You might wake up to a foggy Sunday morning in parts of Delhi-NCR, Punjab and Haryana.
