IPL 2017: KKR to lock horns with RCB in rainy-humid Kolkata

Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore will face each other for the first time in IPL 2017. At present, KKR sits on top half of the standings with 4 wins and 2 losses. KKR recently thrashed Gujarat Lions while they chased down 188 quite comfortably. There is no reason for KKR to ring the alarm bells despite that defeat; their gamble at the top of the innings is working –

Their spinster Sunil Narine is always prepared to attack the opposition any time, while the have batting trio - Gambhir, Uthappa and Pandey are striking the ball pretty well.

RCB on the other hand are coming in from a four-day break post their win over the Gujarat Lions. There is no doubt that Kohli led RCB is a crowd favorite but with just two wins from six matches, their position in the tournament is a bit shaky.

RCB players haven’t been able to justify their capability. With the likes of Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers and Shane Watson, runs shouldn’t be an issue for RCB but sadly it is. RCB will be hoping to weave a series of wins and they would like to do that from Kolkata.

Weather wise:

With two consecutive days of rainfall over Kolkata, rainfall is likely to continue on the third day also. Yesterday’s rainfall activity has helped the temperatures over the City of Joy to drop down a bit. With today’s rainfall temperatures are likely to go below normal. But the caveat is that the city will continue with hot and sultry day weather.  Read More
