Bengaluru Weather: Comfortable days with isolated light rains ahead

July 25, 2017 2:10 PM |

Bengaluru Rains

Since last many days, central and the eastern parts of the Country have been witnessing moderate to heavy rains with a few extremely heavy showers at one or two places. Meanwhile, states prevailing in the South Peninsular of India are witnessing only light rainy traces. Similarly, Karnataka including Bengaluru is likely to experience only isolated light rainfall activities.

As on July 24, the subdivision state wise rainfall distribution statistics show that Karnataka is rain deficient by 28 percent. Similarly, Bengaluru is rain deficient by 56 percent. The reason for these continuous isolated light rains and lack of heavy rains and thundershowers can be attributed to the absence of any significant weather system prevailing over the region.

The highest amount of rainfall the city has observed in the month of July is 9 mm which was recorded on July 19 against the normal of 112.9 mm. Otherwise, since the last ten days, it has just witnessed isolated light spells and alike weather conditions are likely to continue for the next few days.

Furthermore, no major weather system is likely to prevail and therefore, light rains due to localized cloud development are expected to continue in Bengaluru. However, the intensity of these rains will be isolated in nature and will be highly localized in future too. So any chances of heavy spells are not expected but the sky will remain cloudy and with this, pleasant weather conditions may prevail over Bengaluru.
