Chennai weather to take a U turn, rains likelyChennai has been witnessing dry weather conditions for quite some time now. In fact, rains have remained a little too far away from the capital city of Tamil Nadu. These weather conditions have been attributed to the absence of a significant weather system persisting over the region.

However, it seems like rain gods have decided to bring that much-needed relief over the region. Due to the development of weather systems over the region, Chennai may witness some rain and thundershowers along with thunderstorm activity after 24 hours.

The capital city of Tamil Nadu is expected to witness a spell or two of rain and thundershowers on May 9 and May 10. Along with this, parts of Coastal Tamil Nadu are also expected to witness some rain and thundershower activity.

A feeble trough is likely to form over coastal parts of Tamil Nadu during the next 24 hours. Due to this weather feature, the region is expected to witness rains and thundershowers during the above-mentioned time.

As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, intensity of rain and thundershowers is likely to be more on May 10 as compared to May 9. However, the rain intensity will still remain light to moderate in nature.
