Coastal Karnataka and Kerala to see heavy rains

During the Southwest Monsoon period, the West Coast receives a lot of rainfall activities. In the last few days also, the West Coast has remained active. So much so, moderate to heavy rains have been recorded over Kerala as well as Coastal Karnataka.

During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, Mangaluru saw 116 mm of rains, Cannur 82 mm, Karwar 72 mm, Valparai 83 mm, Kozhikode 54 mm, and Karipur 37 mm.

Both Kerala and Coastal Karnataka will be seeing heavy rains for the next two days as the off shore trough is extending up to Coastal Karnataka. Three digit rains are also likely in more than one city during this time.

Moreover, the off shore trough is quite active from Maharashtra to Kerala but it is more active over central parts of West Coast which is Coastal Karnataka
