The state of Maharashtra has been experiencing dry weather since last many days. At present, the day temperatures are above normal over Vidarbha, however minimums are below normal over most parts. At present, Nagpur is observing the lowest minimums where today temperatures were recorded at 8.1°C which is below normal by a total of 6 degrees.

We can say that isolated pockets are still under Cold Wave conditions. We do not expect these weather conditions to remain for long as warm and humid south-easterly winds have already commenced over Maharashtra, therefore minimums are set to increase over most parts of the state.

Weather is expected to remain dry further as well in Marathwada and Vidarbha region until January 24. Thereafter, a Confluence Zone will develop over Central India. The winds from Arabian Sea as well as from Bay of Bengal will merge over Vidarbha and adjoining areas. We expect scattered rain and thundershower activities over Vidarbha and parts of Marathwada on January 25. Places like that of Gondia, Chandrapur, Vardha, Nanded, Osmanabad, Jalna, Parbhani might see rains at this time. These on and off thundershower activities will continue until January 27.

Also, there are prominent chances of hailstorm over parts of Vidarbha and Marathwada during this time. Weather is expected to clear up by January 28. Maximum temperatures are expected to fall over Vidarbha and Marathwada during this time. No major change however is expected over rest of the places.

Apart from this, tomorrow as well the combined affect of Confluence Zone and a trough in the upper levels might cause isolated thunderstorm along with very light rains over Mumbai, Dahnu and Thane area.
