Delhi maximums fall below normal after first Pre Monsoon rains

Delhi witnessed Pre Monsoon showers with dusty winds and thunderstorm, this being the first Pre Monsoon rainfall of the season. The last time the city recorded rains was on February 26.

Also, while the city was reeling under heat wave conditions, it is the first time this season that the city has recorded its maximum below the normal levels. Yesterday, the temperature settled at 35.2 degrees, which is 3 degrees below the normal levels.

Moreover, Delhi had been observing above normal maximums between April 1 and 20, amounting to nine heat wave days at Safdarjung. Maximum at its highest was at 42.6 degrees on April 9.

For the next 48 hours, temperatures will remain below 40 degrees, and will start climbing again from April 25. Furthermore, fresh heat wave conditions will be seen.
