Delhi Rains

Delhi and the NCR region have been seeing some rainy days in the last few days. So much so that the weekend happened to be a very rainy one with the national capital witnessing 74mm of rain on Saturday, making it the highest in the last decade. In the last 24 hours also, light to moderate rains have been witnessed over many parts of Delhi and the NCR region.

During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Safdarjung saw 21.8mm of rainfall, Mungeshpur recorded 2.5mm of rain, Najafgarh 2mm, Ayanagar 10mm, Lodhi Road 17.4mm, and Ridge 11mm.

These rainfall activities are attributed to a Cyclonic Circulation which was over Rajasthan but is now over South Haryana and adjoining areas. Along with this, a trough is running from Tamil Nadu up to Northeast Rajasthan.

Now, rains are expected to reduce over the Delhi NCR region to quite an extent but patchy showers may be seen today as well. Along with this, there is a possibility that isolated light rains may be seen on October 11 and 12, thereafter, the weather will become dry once again.
