Delhi observes season’s first Cold-Day weather conditions

Winters have been unusually warm till date over most parts of Delhi and North India. It was not long ago when Shimla’s mercury was more than that of Delhi’s. But festivities and year-end has finally brought the chilly wintry condition over most parts of North India.

At present, Delhi is witnessing cold-day weather conditions. That means the city is experiencing a steep fall in maximum temperatures while the minimum temperatures remain largely unaffected.

The major factor that is most likely to help the cold-day conditions to stay is the continual persistence of fog. Along with fog, no show of sun and steady cold winds are helping the temperatures to go down further.

This happens to the first cold-day weather of Delhi this season. And while Delhi witnessed cold-day weather conditions, most areas of Punjab and north Haryana are witnessing rainfall activity. And people vacationing in Shimla or Manali are witnessing the season’s first snowfall.

When December started, cold-day temperatures were witnessed over most areas of East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar and now such weather is seen in Delhi and neighboring areas.

It is expected that such cold-day conditions will abate the National Capital in the next 24 hours. But we all have to wait and see if cold-day conditions remain over the city.
