Delhi rains likely to lash city, may become rainiest September ever

The month of September has had a good run so far in terms of rainfall activity over Delhi and the NCR region. In fact, the national capital has recorded some hefty showers with record rains on a couple of days.

At present, the low pressure area is over Madhya Pradesh and adjoining areas. The system is expected to move further and result in some good rainfall activity over Delhi and the NCR region. The national capital may see some rains tonight and it is expected to see showers on the heavier side tomorrow.

Sofa during the month of September that is between 1st and 14th, Delhi has recorded 394 mm of rainfall against its monthly average of 129.8 mm. Moreover, if we talk about the the highest rainfall ever in September, it stands at 417 mm which was witnessed in the year 1944.

With half the month left, it looks like Delhi may even surpass the highest rainfall figure and become the rainiest September ever. If rains are good enough, Delhi may cross this figure during the upcoming spell itself.
