September 10, 2021 5:02 PM |

The city of Delhi has had a good start to September in terms of rainfall activity. Moreover the national capital has already surpassed its monthly mean in the first few days of the month itself.

In the last 24 hours from 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Palam observatory recorded 18 mm of rain while Safdarjung saw light rainfall of 5 mm. During the same time frame Ayanagar recorded moderate spell of 32mm Lodhi Road 1.6 mm and Ridge recorded 6 mm of rainfall.

Today we can expect light rainfall activity with a couple of moderate spells over the city of Delhi. however these rainfall activities are expected to pick up pace tomorrow and moderate showers with a couple of sharp spells of rain can be seen. In fact some rainfall activity being witnessed on Sunday is also a likely possibility.

The monsoon trough is South from Delhi, during such a condition Delhi does not see rainfall. however the trough is positioned at enough distance which can result in moderate rainfall over Delhi. along with this the cyclonic circulation over West Madhya Pradesh and adjoining Rajasthan region is also driving rainfall activity over the national capital.

Therefore in view of all the weather systems Delhi rains are expected to be observed during the weekend.
