Southwest Monsoon 2018 has covered the entire country and the axis of the Monsoon trough is now running along the foothills. In such situations, Monsoon is on the weaker side for Central India including Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra along with parts of South India inclusive of Telangana and Karnataka.
Meanwhile, the trough does result in rainfall activity over Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema, West Coast, foothills of the Himalayas. In fact, Northeast India is the rainiest pocket during this period. Situation reversal only takes place when a system forms in the North Bay of Bengal.

Such a situation is expected to come up and a cyclonic circulation is expected to form in the next 48 hours or so in the northern parts of Bay of Bengal. Thereafter, the system is expected to become more marked. Furthermore, the system is expected to become a low-pressure area gradually.
Thus, with the appearance of the system, Monsoon revival is expected, and good showers are likely to appear over areas which have been deprived of rains. In fact, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra will see rainfall activity.
Thus, between July 5 and 10, Monsoon is expected to remain active over most parts of the country due to this system.
