According to Skymet Weather, these fresh rain can be attributed to the combination of weather systems prevailing on either side of the coast. The off-shore trough running along the West Coast has activated once again, while a fresh cyclonic circulation has developed over Coastal Tamil Nadu and adjoining Comorin area.

Both the systems coupled together has given good rain over several parts of North Karnataka including Bangalore. Weathermen predict that light to moderate rains are likely to continue for at least another 24 to 48 hours.
