Hat trick of 44 degrees for Akola, heat wave spreads its wings over Central India

April 6, 2022 2:07 PM |

The Vidarbha region has been seeing intense heat for the past few days with Akola recording maximums above 44 degrees Celsius for the third day in a row. This hat-trick of maximums has been seen in Akola with the city recording 44.2° celsius yesterday, which is .1° more than what was observed the day before.

Other parts of Maharashtra had also been recording above normal maximum temperatures resulting in heat wave conditions over many parts of the state. So much so that the heat has spread its wings over many parts of Madhya Pradesh as well where maximum in many areas has been observed above 40 degrees.

In fact, a few cities did clock in the temperature even at 44 degrees or close to that including Jalgaon 44 degrees, Khargone 44 degrees, Khandwa 43.5 degrees, Rajgarh recorded 43.2 degrees, Wardha 43 degrees, and Ahmednagar 42.6 degrees.

Now also, no respite is likely with maximums likely to settle in well the above normal levels only for the next few days.
