Heat pocket to shift to Odisha, Andhra Pradesh

May 16, 2023 8:24 PM|

At present, there is no region in the country which is observing heat wave conditions. Heat wave is declared when the maximum temperature is either at 45° or more or the maximums are 5° above the normal levels. In the last 24 hours, no such condition has been seen with Datia seeing the highest maximum at 44.8 degrees.

Heat wave has been vacating the western parts and Madhya Pradesh due to the dust storm activity. Rajasthan will also see a reduction in maximums while other parts of Northwest India as it is has not seen heat wave in the past many days. Temperatures in Gujarat have already dropped.

However, as far as sky high temperatures are concerned, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh including Sambalpur, Titlagarh, Bolangir, Angul, Jharsuguda, Rentachnitala, Nandigama, Bapatla, Narsapur etc. may be the vulnerable pockets and isolated heat wave conditions may occur.
