Heavy Mumbai rains to make a comeback after long

August 30, 2021 11:06 AM |

Mumbai rains have been out of sight for the last few days with very little or no rain on many occasions. So much so that it seemed like Monsoon wasn’t there in Mumbai to begin with.

However, August is expected to end on a rainy note with rains making a comeback over the city of Mumbai. Since today morning, Mumbai has been receiving moderate rains over many parts, and the same is expected to be seen through the day. Moreover, these rainfall activities are only expected to increase in intensity tomorrow.

Therefore, tomorrow i.e. August 31, Mumbai rains are likely to become heavy in nature wherein three digit rains are expected to be seen. In fact, the possibility of waterlogging in some parts cannot be ruled out.

While there will be reduction in the intensity of rainfall on September 1, this entire week is expected to see on and off rains of varied intensity which hasn’t been the case in the longest time. These rains are attributed to the low-pressure area which is at present over Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and adjoining Vidarbha.

By tomorrow, this system is expected to move over Marathwada, Madhya Maharashtra, parts of Vidarbha. There is also a confluence zone as well over the region, which is further enhancing rains over Maharashtra including Mumbai. Thus, Mumbai is expected to see heavy rains tomorrow and commuters may have some trouble during travel as the possibility of waterlogging remains.
