Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh

Light to moderate rain and thundershower with few intense spells have lashed the eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh and parts of Chhattisgarh during the last 24 hours. Isolated hailstorm has also been recorded over these areas. Moderate rain with a few heavy spells may occur over East Madhya Pradesh and many parts of Chhattisgarh for next 24 hours. These thundershowers may be accompanied by strong wind and isolated hailstorms.

A trough is extending from south Rajasthan to Bangladesh across Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Humid winds from Bay of Bengal are also feeding moisture over these states. These weather parameters will be responsible for widespread rain and thundershowers. Intensity of rain will reduce after 24 hours but isolated to scattered light rain may persist until March 20.

As of now, maximum temperatures are significantly below normal over Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. In fact, many stations of East Madhya Pradesh have recorded maximum below 30 degrees such as Narsinghpur, Pachmadhi and Raisen and many stations are in lower thirties. Weather will start clearing up from March 21st and day temperatures will once again witness rising trend.
