Heavy rains all set to lash parts of Karnataka

November 15, 2021 10:05 PM |

The state of Karnataka has been receiving good rains for the past couple of days. During last week, temperatures in the city of Bengaluru reduced to quite an extent, 6-7 degrees below the normal levels giving the residents a wintry chill in the beginning of November itself.

Many parts of the state have witnessed light to moderate showers in the last 24 hours as well. In fact, in the past 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Mangaluru recorded 42 mm of rains, Chitradurga 34 mm, Hassan 17 mm, Honavar 18 mm and Bengaluru 2 mm.

Now rains are expected to increase in some areas of Karnataka, particularly the coastal parts starting today. Therefore, many parts of Karnataka are likely to see some moderate to heavy showers in the next 24 hours. Moreover, these rains will be seen over many areas in Karnataka, both today and tomorrow, reducing around November 17.

These rains are attributed to the Cyclonic Circulation, which is currently over Kerala and Karnataka Coast. This system is expected to gradually shift upward, closer to the Karnataka Coast. Thus, both today as well as tomorrow, expect some moderate to heavy rains over the state of Karnataka.
