The state of Maharashtra has had a decent Monsoon season so far. While there have been times when only light rains have been witnessed over the interior parts of the state, there have been days when moderate to heavy showers have also made an appearance over the region.

Both Pune and Nashik have also witnessed good showers in the month of June. While the month of July was slightly sluggish in the region, good rains have made appearances in the last 48 hours.
In fact, in the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Friday, Nashik recorded a whopping 53 mm of rainfall followed by 25 mm of moderate spells of rainfall in the city of Pune. Other areas of Maharashtra including Bramhapuri 61 mm, Chandrapur 31 mm, Jalgaon 19 mm and Satara 14 mm witnessed good showers during the same time frame.

These weather conditions are attributed to the presence of the off shore trough along the West Coast. Also, the well marked low pressure over Northwest Madhya Pradesh has also been resulting in good showers.
Now, these showers are expected to continue during the next 24 hours as well. The intensity as well as the spread will be around the same. Light to moderate to showers will be observed over the cities.
