One of the strongest western disturbances is approaching Western Himalayas. In fact, this is the first active Western disturbance in the month of February. Snowfall will commence over many parts of Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Ladakh and Jammu Kashmir by today afternoon or evening. Upper reaches of Himachal Pradesh may also receive light snowfall. Light rain is expected to commence over parts of Haryana and Punjab by tonight.
Intensity of snowfall will increase significantly by tomorrow February 3rd over most parts of Western Himalayas including Uttarakhand. Chances of heavy to very heavy snowfall cannot be ruled out. Rain and snow will continue over Western Himalayas until February 4 and thereafter will decrease significantly.
And induced cyclonic circulation has formed over Central parts of Pakistan and adjoining Punjab and Northwest Rajasthan. Humid winds from Arabian Sea are also feeding moisture over the area. Rain and thunder shower activity is made intensify over many parts of Punjab Haryana Delhi and Uttar Pradesh by February 3rd.
There are chances of isolated hailstorm activities also over These areas. By February 4th whether will start caring up from Western districts of Punjab Haryana and Northwest Rajasthan. But scattered rain may continue over Eastern parts of Punjab Haryana parts of Delhi and many parts of Uttar Pradesh.
Icy cold winds from North or northwest direction or will start blowing over Northwest India leading to significant drop in a minimum so once again. Minimum temperatures may fall by 3 to 4 degrees between February 4 and 7 over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat, West Madhya Pradesh and parts of Maharashtra. They will be sunny and comfortable but night a will be cold.
