A western disturbance is over the Western Himalayas. A cyclonic circulation is over the western parts of Punjab and Haryana. Is also moving in a northerly direction towards the Indo Gangetic plains. These weather parameters are responsible for torrential rain.

We expect very heavy rains new over Himachal Pradesh as well as Uttarakhand during the next 24 to 48 hours. There will be a gradual shift of rain activities from Himachal Pradesh To Uttrakhand. Now the intensity of rain will be more severe over Uttarakhand and is expected to continue until July 12.

As of now, all the western Himalayas is in the normal rain category. We expect Himachal Pradesh and Uttrakhand to move to the excess rain category by next weekend.

Heading towards hilly destinations at this time is risky therefore it is advised to avoid these hilly destinations for at least the next week.
