Key Takeaways:
- Light rain is expected over Delhi/NCR late tonight, with more showers on Sunday.

- Any rain after 8:30 a.m. tomorrow will be counted as February rainfall.
The month of January is likely to end on a rainy note for Delhi/NCR. Light rainfall is expected tomorrow, a little late in the night, followed by more showers the next day on Sunday. There has been a significant drop in temperatures over the last three days. The minimum temperature has fallen to 7.7°C from its earlier mark of 12.6°C recorded day before yesterday. Night temperatures are expected to rise in association with the likely rainfall activity over the weekend.
A western disturbance will close in later tonight over the Western Himalayas. An induced cyclonic circulation is likely to develop over West Rajasthan and North Punjab. With the arrival of these systems, the seasonal anticyclone has been pushed eastward from Central Rajasthan. This shift is providing a zone of convergence over Delhi, Northeast Rajasthan, and Southwest Uttar Pradesh. These pockets are likely to witness rain or thundershower activity over the next two to three days.
Ahead of the western disturbance, a sheet of high clouds will precede, resulting in partly cloudy skies over Delhi and its neighbourhood. The clouds will lower and thicken late tomorrow evening. Light rainfall is likely to begin around midnight or during the wee hours. Light, patchy, and intermittent showers are expected on Sunday. The remnant of the system may cause light rainfall on Monday morning as well. Broad clearance is expected from 3rd February.
Persistent cloud cover and a few spells of rain will raise night temperatures, which are likely to climb back into double digits. Day temperatures, however, may drop by 2–3°C. Despite these fluctuations, Delhi has already gone on record with its lowest minimum temperature of 2.9°C, measured on 15th January 2026. The capital has recorded a total of 25 mm rainfall in January against its normal of 19.2 mm. Any rainfall after 8:30 a.m. tomorrow will be accounted for in February. February happens to be the rainiest winter month, with an average rainfall of 21.5 mm.
