anow in kashmirAs predicted by Skymet Weather, a fresh spell of rain and snow have lashed parts of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. Uttarakhand has also recorded good weather activity.

The fresh Western Disturbance has given widespread light to moderate rain and snow over the hilly states of North India. Few places have also witnessed heavy spell.

During last 24 hours, Batote in Jammu and Kashmir recorded 24 mm of precipitation. While Kullu in Himachal Pradesh observed 35 mm of rain.

Foothills of Punjab have also recorded light to moderate rain in wake of the system.

According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, the system is likely to clear the region during next 24 hours. This will lead to significant drop in the weather activity over all the three states. However, remnants of the system will continue to give scattered rain and snow over the region for another day.

After the passage of the system, dry and cold northwesterly winds will once again make a comeback over hills as well as plains of North India.

The plains of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh will now witness significant drop in minimum temperatures by at least 2-4 degrees. With this, winter chill that had evaded the region will strike back.

However, maximum temperatures wills settle around normal and cold day conditions will not be witnessed.

Let us have a look at the rainfall figures recorded in span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Friday.
