Rain in Uttarakhand

After experiencing widespread rain and thundershower activities few days back, rains eased out a bit and during the last 24 hours, only isolated light rainfall activity was witnessed in parts of Jammu and Kashmir. Meanwhile, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand remained almost dry with cloudy sky.

At present a fresh Western Disturbance is seen over North Pakistan and adjoining parts of Jammu and Kashmir. This system has also induced a cyclonic circulation over parts of Rajasthan.

Today, we expect rain and thundershowers to commence over parts of Jammu and Kashmir. Gradually, by tomorrow the intensity and spread of these weather activities will increase and cover parts of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand as well.

Thus, during the next two days i.e. April 16 and 17, fairly widespread rain and thundershower activities are likely to occur over most parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand . Few heavy showers are also expected in these states.

Places such as Banihal, Jammu, Katra, Gulmarg, Leh, Pahalgam, Qazigund, Srinagar, Bilaspur, Dharamshala, Kullu, Manali, Shimla, Una, Almora, Dehradun, Haridwar, Mussoorie, Nainital, Pithoragarh and Tehri will experience widespread rain and thundershowers on April 16 and 17.
