Light rain in Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and upper Assam during the next 24 hours

If we look at the last 24 hours, a mainly dry weather with fog and mist during morning hours prevailed over the entire Northeast area.

Looking at the major weather systems in this region, the Cyclonic Circulation now lies over Meghalaya and adjoining Bangladesh area. Apart from this, light Easterly winds are presently blowing over the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and adjoining Meghalaya region whereas very light South-Easterlies are blowing over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.

In the next 24 hours, there is a possibility of very light rain in a few pockets over Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and upper parts of Assam. Shallow fog will also prevail over the region during the morning hours. Also, morning weather will remain cool over the most Northeastern states. Day, whereas will be warm with a mainly sunny sky.

However, due to the formation of a Well-Marked Low-Pressure Area over South-central Bay of Bengal, a mainly dry weather will continue for the next few days.

During the last 24 hours, most cities in these states recorded the minimum temperatures in the double digits. For e.g. Silchar recorded 17.4°C, Guwahati 16°C, Dibrugarh 14.6°C, Itanagar 14.6°C, Cherrapunji 11.6°C, Imphal 10.8°C, Kohima 10.6°C, Agartala 15.4°C, Shillong 9.5°C, Gangtok 10.5°C and Kailashahar 17.8°C.
