June 28, 2016 8:19 AM |

Rain in DelhiAfter witnessing rain and thundershowers around midnight hours, Delhi-NCR is all set to witness another spell of rain on Tuesday morning.

Rain bearing clouds were seen hovering over the entire city since early morning hours. Palam Observatory has already started raining and we expect, these rains to reach other parts of the city very soon.

Monsoon is all set to make onset of over Delhi around its scheduled time. As reiterated by Skymet Weather, Monsoon may reach Delhi around June 30, with error margin of one day. In wake of this, pre-Monsoon activities have picked up pace over the capital city.

According to Skymet Weather, these rains can be attributed to the trough that is extending from Punjab up to the low pressure area in east-central Bay of Bengal. The trough is running in close proximity of Delhi across Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha.

All these systems, will be responsible for the further advancement of Southwest Monsoon over northern plains including Delhi.

Also the presence of trough has also increased the levels of humidity by several times. Though maximum temperatures continue to be in high 30s, but it is the minimum temperatures that have increased and are settling above normal.
No major change is likely in the temperature profile for next few days.
