Monsoon rains drench Hyderabad, to continue for next 2-3 days

Rain in HyderabadThe long wait for rains in Hyderabad has finally come to an end. Monsoon rains of moderate intensity have been lashing the state capital since morning hours.

Sky was overcast during the early morning hours, which was followed by rain and thundershowers around 9:30 am. According to Skymet Weather, these showers are likely to continue for another couple of hours.

In fact, weathermen predict that on and off rains throughout the day across Telangana including Hyderabad. We can expect mainly moderate showers, with one or two heavy spells at some places. Live status of Lightning and thunderstorm across India

This fresh spell of Monsoon rains can be attributed to a north-south trough running from Odisha to South Tamil Nadu across Rayalaseema and Telangana.

The ongoing spell has arrested the rise in day temperatures, which is presently settling around 22°C. With this, the weather has gone extremely pleasant.

Hyderabad has been witnessing mainly dry weather conditions for the last few days, however nearby areas of Telangana has been witnessing good rainfall.

In span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday, Nalgonda 35 mm, Ramagundam 14.3 mm, Khammam 12 mm, and Nizamabad 4 mm.

Now, with this trough likely to stay put for some more time, we can expect light to moderate rains to continue across Telangana including Hyderabad.

At on September 5, Hyderabad is rain surplus by 10% but the state of Telangana as a whole is rain deficit by 11%.
