Monsoon rains to reduce in Patna, Gaya, Purnia, Supaul

Intermittent rains continued to keep temperatures low in Bihar even on Wednesday. Many districts continue to witness water-logging problem in the wake of heavy downpours during the last few days. Since the span of last 24 hours, Bhagalpur recorded 52.9 mm of rain, Purnia 18 mm, Chapra 12.4 mm, Forbesganj 12.2 mm, Patna 1 mm, Supaul 0.5 mm and Gaya 0.2 mm.

According to Skymet Weather, a trough was seen extending from Punjab up to Bay of Bengal across Jharkhand. A cyclonic circulation was also seen over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and adjoining areas.

Now, these weather systems have become insignificant. Due to this, no rains are expected to occur over Bihar and adjoining areas for the next few days. However, the weather conditions will not go completely dry and light rains will continue.

In wake of these good rains, the state has now once again become rain surplus. As on July 11, Bihar is rain surplus by 10 percent.

Meanwhile, at present also situations remain conducive for more spells of rain and thundershower activities for the next 24 to 48 hours. Thereafter, the state of Bihar will witness reduced rainfall activities.
