Monsoon rains to significantly reduce from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, North Interior Karnataka

July 28, 2023 2:28 PM |

The state of Telangana along with parts of north interior Karnataka as well as Andhra Pradesh have seen some intense rainfall activities in the last few days because of the low pressure which has been seen along the east coast in proximity of this region.

Even during the last 24 hours, isolated parts did record some heavy rainfall activities. In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday, Nizamabad recorded 114 mm of rains, Medak 31 mm, Hanamkonda 18 mm, Hyderabad 11 mm.

Now the intense rains will shift towards the regions of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha as the low-pressure area is expected to move northeastward. In fact, even today rainfall activity will significantly reduce from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh as well as north interior Karnataka.

This is the only system that has given rains over South India and has resulted in an improvement from the deficient figures that the southern parts had been facing. Two regions including South and East India have been in deficit but this system has given good rains over the southern parts and will also give some showers over East India.
