Monsoon will be vigorous over Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh

The deep depression over North Chhattisgarh will gradually move towards northeast Madhya Pradesh as a depression. Many districts of Chhattisgarh, as well as Eastern districts of Madhya Pradesh, have already recorded heavy rainfall.

Ambikapur recorded 106 mm of rain, Bilaspur 88, Pendra Road 81, Mana 75, Durg 67, and Jagdalpur recorded 17 mm of rain. Similarly in Eastern districts of Madhya Pradesh, Jabalpur recorded 112 mm, Damoh 76, Satna 75, Malanjhkhand 99, Sagar 46, Tikamgarh 38, Pachmarhi 23, Hoshangabad 24, and Betul recorded 23 mm rain.

We expect heavy to very heavy rain over many parts of Madhya Pradesh during the next 24 hours. Moderate to heavy rain may continue over Chhattisgarh. Rain activities are to reduce over Chhattisgarh after August 4th but will continue over Madhya Pradesh for at least the next two days. In Madhya Pradesh, Gwalior, Shivpuri, Tikamgarh, Vidisha, Raisen, Bhopal, Sagar, Hoshangabad, Chhindwara, Seoni, Jabalpur and Damoh may get heavy downpours.

Rain will reduce gradually over Madhya Pradesh from May 5th. However moderate showers may continue over northern districts of the state such as Datia, Tikamgarh, Gwalior, and Shivpuri for another 24 hours.

We do not expect any significant weather activity over Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh between August 6th and 10.
