More rain and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh

A strong Western Disturbance that started affecting weather in Jammu & Kashmir since the 3rd of February is presently active over north Pakistan and adjoining Jammu & Kashmir region. As predicted earlier by Skymet, intermittent precipitation has accumulated 3 inches of snow in the state. However, highway remained clear and vehicular traffic was not affected as the activity remained confined to hilly regions and precipitation in Srinagar and Qazigund was very less. Here’s a list of precipitation in Jammu & Kashmir-

This system has affected weather in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand as well. Snow of over 1 to 2 inches has been received at various tourist destinations including Shimla, Manali and Kullu. Here’s a list of precipitation in Himachal Pradesh-

Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh will continue to receive rain and snow during the next two days. Precipitation and cloudy skies have kept the day temperatures below normal in the region.
