The weather of Maharashtra has been mainly dry since past few days but now scattered light to moderate rain and thundershower activity may commence over Vidarbha, Marathwada and coastal areas of Maharashtra after 24 hours.

These pre-Monsoon activities will pick up pace from June 1 and many areas of Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada will start receiving good rain and thundershowers by June 2.

The rain intensity will increase over Madhya Maharashtra and places like Ratnagiri, Raigarh, Pune, Ahmadnagar and Aurangabad will get good rain and thundershower activity. Good rains are also expected over south Madhya Maharashtra over places like Kolhapur, Sangli Satara and Osmanabad.

Now we can say that rain activities will start after 24 hours and the start of June will see intense thundershower activities over many parts of Maharashtra. These pre-Monsoon showers will continue over south Madhya Maharashtra till the arrival of Monsoon which will be somewhere in the second week of June.

The areas which were reeling under drought will get great amount of relief from these pre-Monsoon showers.

Since last many days Vidarbha and Marathwada were under harsh weather conditions and temperature remain in mid 40s and the absence of rain made it difficult for the people survive. But now the temperature will subside and rain will commence which will in turn bring relief to parched region.
