The city of Mumbai has been seeing some intense rains for the past couple of days. During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Tuesday, Santa Cruz recorded 53 mm of rain while Colaba saw more rain at 98 mm. Moreover, the suburbs of the commercial capital also saw some heavy rains. Alibag recorded 117 mm of rains. So far, Mumbai has already recorded 809 mm of rains against 919 mm.
Conditions still remain favourable for heavy spells today as well. Tomorrow also, we can expect some heavy rains but they may not be as intense as today and yesterday. Thereafter, moderate rains may be seen in the subsequent 24 hours as well and ease out later.
A fresh spell of rain may come up when the system in the Bay of Bengal moves inland, but that will take some time.
